Tectonically, the valley is young; only about 150 million years ago it was „lifted“ out of the Sea. It is said that no wine region on Earth has such a complex soil composition like Napa. More and more also on the hill sides vines are being planted. Throughout the valley, the quality of the wines is ext-remely high. Napa is considered as the Californian Bordeaux. The main varietals are Caber-net Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Only 4% of the American production comes from this Valley.
