St. Francis

The winery was founded in 1971 by Joe Martin on the former Behler Ranch. Today, the winery farms 600 acres of land. St. Francis belongs to the pioneers of sustainable farming in California. On all roofs there are solar panels, creating a production of 450 Kilowatt. Glasses are recycled by 50% and the weight per bottle was reduced by 21%. Katie Madigan has been in the winemaking team sicen 1982. She has full responsability for the „Old Vine“ Zinfandel. She is a graduate from UC Davis. In 2012 she was elected as the best winemaker in Sonoma.
