Clifton is a small Virginia town in the Fairfax County which is neighbouring the capital, Washington DC. In 1716 the ancestors of owner Kirk Wiles were given 300 hectars land by Lord Fairfax. Paradise Springs Winery was founded in 2007 and produces around 12,000 cases of wine a year. The name of the winery refers to an old mineral springs on the western part of the town.
