Milbrandt Vineyards

Milbrandt Vineyards,

The Milbrandt Family are farmers from Nebraska who immigrated 1954 to Eastern Washington. At that time, Butch and Jerry Milbrandt’s father purchased 160 acres for a price of 40$ per acre. The first winter, the family spent in an army caravan. In the middle of nowhere, they started planting trees in order not to loose plowed earth to the wind. The first years were hard, there was not a single road. 1997 the sons changed from farming grain to vines. In the first years they sold the grapes and became known for their quality. 2005 the brothers dedided to create their own label. The continuity of the winery won’t be a problem as eight descendents are ready. The family farms today 12 diffe-rent vineyards with 2.500 acers. The best grapes come from the Wahluke Slope.
