Oregon is North of California and knwon for varietals prefering a cooler climate. Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Sparklers and Gewürztraminer are the most popular varietals. Roughly 700 wineries are acitve, 300 in the Willamette Valley. The climate is throughout the year mild, Winter is cool and rainy, Summer is usually warm and dry.
