Paso Robles, CA

Paso Robles, CA,

The Central Coast became a wineboom region where in contrast to Napa you still can find inexpensive quality wines. Paso Robles is in the North of San Luis Obispo. The acrage is 27.000 and there are 200 wineries. End of the 19th century, Zinfandel vines were already cultivated. North of the Kiler Canyon mountains do block the cool pacific air, so Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon get fully ripe. South of the Canyon, cooler climate varietals like Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are planted.
