The vines were planted over 100 years ago by portugese immigrants. The vines are so called shy bearing vines, providing not much quantity but an extraordinary quality. Due to the sandy soil, the Oakley vineyard has never seen phylloxera. The tannins are extra smooth. Fat strawberry flavors mingle nicley with coffee and chocolate aromas. Would the category „Lady Wine“ still exist, I classified the Nancy Zin there. Nancy is by the way the first name of Mrs. Cline. Goes nicely with a pork BBQ.
