The beauty of the US as a wine country is, that it is so diverse. You can find every soil, every climate and surprices on and on. The Lagrein is originally from Alto Adige in Italy. His extre-me dark colour is unique. Raspberry and Vanilla are heavily concentrated. The tannins are present but also refined. The mouthfeel is perfect. The only problem is that the Joughin Vineyard is climatically exposed, so it is catched often by late frost which can destroy a who-le vintage.
