20 Years

Wow - has it been already 20 years ago that I founded this company? In 1997, after 10 exciting years as an internationally active Marketing Executive in reinsurance, I felt that there must be more. Together with my former wife we decided to take a Sabbatical in the US. Our kids, at that time at the age of 3 and 1 wouldn't be left at home of course. We bought an RV in Florida and directed for one year our own road movie which took us 50'000 km throughout this wonderful country. The visit of a couple of wineries was scheduled.. in the end we made over 300 visits. Wine tasting become a sort of a fever, one discovery was followed by another one. It became clear to me that I found a marketing niche - nearly as deep and wide as the Grand Canyon. 

And today, 20 years later? As the only US wine specialist in Switzerland, American Wines Factory offers a wide wine spectrum: our partners are 26 boutique wineries who create top quality, unique and often internationally rates wines.  The wines come from 18 different American Viticultural Areas in California, Oregon, Washington State, Ohio, New York and Virginia. Our selection comprises over 100 positions of 30 different varietals; in Europe, many of them are rare or even extinct. We know all winemakers in person, we taste on the spot and import directly from the winery. For all these years, our mission remained the same: showing the diversity of the wine country America - join us!

Dear customers, I would like to thank you for your loyalty. It is amazing how many of you were with us since we started! The product pipe line is nearly exploding therefore, I can assure you further exciting wine experiences! New customers, I would like to thank you for your confidence - let's start a wine journey for many years to come. Special thanks to "our" wineries who became friends over the years. And last but not least, I would like to thank the fantastic AWF sales team that is looking forward to going on serving you at fairs with charme and compentence.
